Air Canada opened a daily service from Montreal to Shanghai in mid-February. This is the first time since Air Canada has launched a direct flight from Montreal to China and has used the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to fly on this route.
The new route brings the total number of domestic airline providing services to North America from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to three.
The non-stop Shanghai-Boston service will fly three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
The outbound flight is scheduled to take off from Pudong airport at 23:55 and arrive in Boston at 14:35. The inbound Flight (HU7962) will leave Boston at 16:35 and arrive in Beijing at 19:45 local time the next day.
Since it launched its first U.S. route from Beijing-Seattle in 2008, Hainan Airlines has accelerated its expansion in North America by offering several new services and increasing the number of flights. The launch of the new route will strengthen its flight network in North America and offer more convenient travel options to passengers, according to the airline.
The airline also launched a five-day-weekly Shanghai-Seattle service on June 22 with an Airbus 330.
