OVERVIEW:
Doi Inthanon is Thailand's highest peak, rising to 2,565 meters above sea level. As part of a National Park, this area is covered with evergreen forest and offers splendid views. During these 2 days of exploration, you will trek through valley and jungle, and have the opportunity to see many bird species, refreshing waterfalls and hill-tribe villages.
Itinerary :
CHIANG MAI – DOI INTHANON (-/L/D)
DAY 1
08:30 AM. Meet your guide at your hotel and depart by private vehicle heading south-west of Chiang Mai. Reach the mountaintop for exploration and a short trek. Visit the two pagodas near the summit, offering fantastic views of the valley. After lunch at local restaurant, depart for a two hours hike reaching a small Karen hill-tribe village where you will spend the night. A Thai dinner is prepared by your guide.

DOI INTHANON – CHIANG MAI (B/L/-)
DAY 2
After breakfast, start hiking from the village on the mountain, passing jungle forest and cultivated valleys in a scenic area on the foot-hills of the Doi Inthanon. Meet with your vehicle and transfer to Vachiratarn waterfall, one of the park's many waterfalls for a local Thai style picnic lunch. Afternoon, relax and explore the area before transfer back to Chiang Mai. Drop off at hotel or airport.  
Note: Elephant riding can be organized as an option (to be arranged and paid on spot with the guide)

Our package tour prices are inclusive of transfers by private minivan or 4WD, depending on the season, English speaking tour guide, all visits/excursions as mentioned in tour itinerary, National Park entrance fees, accommodation is basic dormitory in village huts, with toilet and shower outside. Sleeping bags, foam mats and mosquito nets are provided at no extra charge. Meals as mentioned in the itinerary (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner), service charges and VAT.
Not included are other meals than mentioned in the program, and expenditures of a personal nature.
Note: Village overnight is very basic. Participants must be aware that there are no western-style toilets and washing facilities. Sleeping is on a bamboo floor in the villager’s hut. Sleeping bags, foam mats and mosquito nets are supplied. The itinerary/route is for guideline only and can slightly change according to the season, local conditions, climate, or participant’s fitness or abilities.   Recommended items to take on a trek: Good pair of running shoes, or lightweight trekking shoes, with socks. T-shirts (cotton), one short or long pants. Towel (or sarong), swimming suits, toilet and personal effects. Personal prescription drugs, contact lenses, glasses. Sun-cream (waterproof), hat, sunglasses. Long sleeves sweater and pants, or jogging suits. A small flashlight, camera and films. Additional trekking information: During the cold season (December and January) we recommend to add a fleece and long pants as temperatures can drop and it can be cold at night in the mountains.
