New Luxury in Luang Prabang
Built on a heritage site in the former royal capital of Laos, Alila Luang Prabang fuses colonial charm with contemporary elegance in one of the finest luxury all-suite resorts in the region.

Simple Laotian Cooking offers 172 recipes, including a section on the traditional Lob, a dish usually made with beef but also with chicken, fish, or wild game, which is reserved for holidays and special occasions. Served with sticky rice and fresh vegetables, it is one of the few dishes accompanied by wine.
A glossary defines staple ingredients like bamboo shoots, cilantro, coconut milk, fresh ginger, kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass. The author also incorporates western ingredients in her dishes, making Laotian cuisine even easier to cook.

Peuan Mit Makphet Restaurant
Peuan Mit, meaning close friend works with street children their families and communities in Vientiane Province.
Have a lunch or a relaxing coffee break at Makphet restaurant, where they serve traditional Lao food in a contemporary setting opposite Vat Inpeng on Setthathirath Road, Vientiane.
Visit their Noi-Noi shop in the Makphet restaurant and choose a range of gifts and accessories made by the parents of former street children using simple, recycled materials. The original designs reflect modern Lao style.
 
Thaen Taeng Heritage Preservation Centre

Thaen Taeng gallery has wide collections of Lao traditional textiles and basketries from different places in Laos. The Director of museum started collecting Lao textiles in the late 1980. The expositions consist of various types of textiles from different ethnic groups in Laos, which use different ways of weaving. The gallery also has a rich collection of Lao basketries.
The gallery displays both individual pieces and complete costumes to represent the rich culture of Lao ethnic people as well as to show the craftsmanship of Lao ancestors inherited thousands of years ago. Located in Ban Hai, Xaythanyt district Vientiane Capital. (approx. 30 – 45 minutes drive from Vientiane city centre).
