Mushrooms picking in the Ura Valley
The Mushroom Festival in the Ura valley, in the central part of Bhutan, took place recently. More than 50 varieties of mushrooms, together with mushroom products and best Ura buckwheat and barley, were on display at the second Matsutake festival in Ura.
Favored by soil, sun and moisture, these mushrooms grow in abundance and Bhutanese farmers have picked them for generations.
We welcome you to experience mushroom picking in these beautiful and pristine forests from early July till early September. To guide you, we provide local farmers who have an intimate knowledge of these mountains. And like local people the world over, they hold the secrets of the land.

Gangtey - Rubisa Trek
Ideal in October and November. The starting point of this trek is Tshikopang, located on 2900 meters. The daily walks are between 5 to 6 hours and the highest point reached is 3860 meters. En-route: beautiful landscape, rhododendrons, and lots of flora and fauna. And off course, many cultural encounters in the villages along the way.
