How electronics can make you greener ...
Diethelm Travel Thailand has focused on technology to reduce their waste. Over the past years the company has taken several steps to reduce their waste, increase recycling and lower impact on the environment. Some of these steps are:
- E-mail instead of print and mail: simple documents such as invoices and vouchers are emailed, reducing paper usage, transport etc.
- SMS: our guides now receive their orders by SMS and clear their expenses via the internet: this reduces travel back and forth to our office.
- Look on the net: Hotel brochures are a thing from the past. Diethelm Travel Thailand has recycled what we had and will not accept any new ones. Instead: log on to the internet.
- Intranet: a major development in "going paperless" is the set-up of an intranet with great search functionality. No more "print & file", no more archiving, no more old paper. Launch in February 2010.
- E-Books instead of print: no more glossy prints: open our e-books on your phone or computer.
Malaysia's Green Team
Diethelm Travel Malaysia launched a Green Team. The Green Team is not only focusing on "greening" the company, but took a much wider perspective and is focusing on their colleagues, families and surrounding. To see what they have done recently, check out their newsletters:

The Green Leaf standard is an important step towards a clear classification of hotels who take necessary steps to lower their impact on the environment. In our Hotel Information, the Green Leaf Symbol is shown for hotels participating in this program.
